Over the last few years, I have created a set of cards to help people to identify the Priorities in their lives and to use them as Provocations, Clarifications, Conversation Starters, for Planning, or Accountability – for today, this week, this month or this year.

There are fifteen ‘games’ that can be ‘played’ by individuals, couples, groups or porganisations.

Set goals, align teams, identify People who Matter, Things That Bring Joy or Give Meaning to Life. Identify Gifts or Solve Problems. Describe your individual or collective ‘Heroic’ Journey.

There are 74 blank cards with single word prompts. To clarify their meanings, you might take a walk and record your thoughts, make marks on the cards (as shown in the image above), collect photos or cut pictures from a magazine.

So far, the cards have been used:

  • to help facilitators identify What Matters Most? for them as facilitators
  • to help couples develop a shared plan for retirement
  • to support people living with cancer to focus on their priorities
  • to reflect on a year of activity and to identify focuses for the next
  • o set goals for the following month
  • to hold people accountability for working toward their goals
  • to identify priorities for a community group
  • to support teams to work together
  • to chart the history of a community group.

Follow the directions for the purpose you have in mind – or make up your own ‘game’!
