Facilitating Conversations offers a wide range of professional learning opportunities for educators and teachers in early childhood education and care settings and schools.

SchemaPlay training can be offered to schools, centres or districts. Individual teachers and educators might join a series of spaced workshops. Taster sessions can also be offered.

Inquiry-led learning is a way of building children’s knowledge, concepts, skills and dispositions in a unit of inquiry that integrates the disciplinary knowledge of different fields and gives a context for literacy and numeracy.

Individuals might like to look out for our Living Projects. In conjunction with The Art Creatives, these intensive three-day experience use creative art skills and techniques to explore topics of interest, just as educators and teachers use inquiry-led processes to explore topics and issues of interest to children. By living an inquiry-led learning process, educators and teachers develop confidence and resilience as they work together through the uncertainty of staying present in the moment of theory construction and deconstruction.

Other possibilities include:

  • supporting student diversity
  • play
  • collaborative learning (supporting children to work and learn together)
  • integrating curriculum
  • designing learning environments
  • documenting and interpreting observations
  • planning and programming
  • interacting with children
  • building relationships with families
  • engaging the school/centre community
  • working together as a team
